In Touch Weekly noted that Zac Efron was "flirting up a storm" with many girls at the Dec. 1st Slightly Stupid concert who "gave Zac their phone numbers and he made no reference to having a girlfriend."
This is probably old news to Vanessa Hudgens, his current girlfriend, who noted that she likes Zac's recent Rolling Stone cover. "The girls like it", she said.

High School Musical 3 Production May Be Delayed
Jim Hill Media, an entertainment industry news source, has noted that High School Musical 3's starting production date has been moved from January 2008 to April due to the current writer's strike. With most TV shows and movies now suffering from the strike, getting the HSM3 script into a finalize state may come even later.
Mr. Hill's Disney insiders noted: "We had hoped that the 'High School Musical 3' screenplay that was delivered just prior to the start of the strike would be shootable, but this thing is seriously in need of a rewrite. But as long as the Writer's Guild remains out on strike, we're not allowed to change a single word of this script. So right now, we're stuck."
With the announcement of the Hannah Montana movie production starting in 2008 as well, Disney may find themselves in a very tough situation. These two blockbusters are huge profit generators for 2008 and could jepordize the excitement for both.

Johnny Depp Talks about High School Musical 3
With the new Tim Burton musical movie, Sweeney Todd, just opening who would think that Johnny Depp would mention High School Musical 3? During an interview with Entertainment Tonight Johnny Depp was asked if he would ever think of starring with the cast of HSM3. "Yeah, I'd play somebody's grandfather!", he said.
Father of two children, Jack and Lily-Rose, Depp notes that he sings in Sweeney Todd for Tim Burton but "there's no reason for me to do it again." Recently honored with a Best Director award from the National Board Of Review, the film is getting good reviews!

Vanessa Hudgens Talks!
Vanessa Hudgens talked about show business, celebrities and High School Musical 3.
Vanessa said that she has always wanted to be an entertainer, but she would rather skip the celebrity part.
"I became an actress and started singing and dancing because I truly loved it," said Vanessa. "I did it because I genuinely enjoy doing it."
"I did not want to be a celebrity. … I think fame is just something that comes along when you are in something that is such a success."
"Fame is an interesting thing but my fans are very supportive and I thank them so much."
"It is a dog-eat-dog world," said the singer. "People want to know about people's business; no one really has a sense of privacy because everyone is trying to get into your business.
"And people become jaded and infatuated with Hollywood. I think it happens to a lot of celebrities and it messes with their head."
Vanessa said the extra attention is not for her. "I don't like people staring at me all the time and I don't want people following me around," she said.

Vanessa Hudgens Signed for High School Musical 3
Disney has confirmed the signing of Vanessa Hudgens for High School Musical 3!
At the American Music Awards she laughed off the rumours that she has out-grown the High School Musical phenomenon.
"I am so very excited.", she said, "to do a third one for the big screen, I can't begin to think how much fun we'll have...Only a few people have actually signed the contracts...We're all definitely on board."
Whether boyfriend, Zac Efron, would sign as well is a different story. He told People in September that he would only return to HSM3 if there was a decent script. But, seeing the pictures of Zac with Director, Kenny Ortega, in the previous post below seems to dispute this theory. Ortega has noted that there will be some new actors will be in class next term.
"We want to do this,", he said, "and we're going to have some new characters arriving at East High. That'll be fun, mix it up a little bit."

High School Musical 3 to Begin Filming in January!
Can it really be true? Recent reports are saying HSM3 is set to begin filming in January 2008. Still reported to be a full length film, it sounds like the entire cast will be back.
Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens have each been made offers of $3.25 and $1.3 million respectively to continue their roles in the new film. Although the final acceptance is yet unconfirmed it looks hopeful.
Kaycee Stroh, who plays Martha, is hoping for the best. She told OK! magazine, "Our fingers are crossed because we love each other. The chemistry's great with the 10 of us."
Recent discussions for the new plot involve a prom or graduation. Let's hope this all works out.

Scandals Continue for Vanessa Hudgens
The scandals for Vanessa Hudgens keep on coming. After the photos of her naked appeared on the Internet she is now apparently being sued for breach of contract by her former lawyer! He says she owes him $150,000.
Brian L. Schall, her lawyer, filed a complaint in Los Angeles Superior Court in September. He claimed to have helped her with the negotiations for her recording and songwriting contracts.
According to him she was supposed to pay five percent of her earnings from any deals he worked on of which she has only paid a portion.
Since the photos have appeared, Hudgens has kept very quiet and her relationship with Disney is in question. Let's hope she can get through this and back for HSM3!

Vanessa Hudgens Off High School Musical 3?
I found this quote online but I don't believe it. It seems like it might be a fake!
"Due to the recent scandal of High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens' naked photo scandal, Execs at Disney have parted ways with the star and have decided to replace her with Cheetah Girls star Adrienne Bailon. The decision came just hours after the scandal became public and got to the offices at Disney. Says insiders 'It was an extremely hard decision to do. Vanessa has become apart of the family, but we felt it was irresponsible of her to do what she did.' It has now been announced that Bailon, star of another hugely successful Disney franchise The Cheetah Girls will replace Hudgens in the role of Gabriella, Zac Efron's love interest in the upcoming High School Musical 3. Both Hudgens and Bailon's reps denied a comment, as well as the reps for Disney." - US Weekly

High School Musical 3 Auditions on YouTube?
It's really weird but I've found a bunch of HSM3 auditions on YouTube. When I searched with Google it looks like some agent is trying to promote this but I think it might not be legit.
Here's a sample (just search for High School Musical 3 Auditions on YouTube):
I was lucky to hear an interview on the radio before school last spring about talent agents making commercials that are using the line 'Do you want to be in a Disney Channel movie?'
Looks like some agencies are charging $5000 to $10000 just to get an audition. The radio station had a talent agent on that said you should never have to pay for an audition. Those commercials are misleading and are charging for acting classes. Almost no one gets on these shows.
They said your best chance is to (as best I can remember):
- Always find a local talent agent / check around to see who's good in your nearest town
- Never pay high fees for auditions
- Get your publicity photo and portfolio ready
- Try to get in as many commercials, etc. as possible
I know there were more ideas but I can't remember.

Hints at High School Musical 3 Release
High School Musical 2 is truly a monster hit! The Disney musical’s success has grown even more with attractions at the Disney parks and plans for a theatrical third movie. Oddly enough, before HSM2 was released this year it was announced that High School Musical 3 would be promoted to the theaters instead of a made-for-tv movie, and would center around the characters’ adventure in a haunted house. The preliminary title was Haunted High School Musical.
However, TV Guide has announced that the studio's plans for High School Musical 3 have changed. It will still be released in the theaters only the haunted house theme has been removed from the script concept.
High School Musical 3 will be centered on 'the fast-growing 'kids' senior year.' The original goal was to have the release ready by late fall of 2008. Whether the up-and-coming stars can get back together within that time remains to be seen. We all know what happened to the Lizzie McGuire franchise - imploded on demands for money. If Zac and Venessa start chiming for more dollars we might see a big fizzle. Time will tell.
